Pictures May Boost Your PageRank

Pictures of PageRankToday, my PageRank has risen for the first time to PR1 (and this blog is less than 2 months old). And you may wish to see this post, made for a contest entry, in which I described about it. Here is a thought. Just a thought, and may be it is pure coincidence. But I would well appreciate your views on this. [Here is Google PageRank Update of rising PR to 4]

Last night, what I did was writing an entry about how I could rise to second page on Google, and promote this blog to this level. I described everything I did in the last post made for Chitika contest, and as per their requirement, put a picture badge at the end of the post.

When I looked at the entry, I was very pleased by its look. The picture badge was really nice on the blog, and I even mentioned about it in my mail to Chitika. So, I had a thought: why not add some more pictures on the post?

I hunted around in Google for appropriate pictures for my posts, and found some author pictures, which I uploaded to the appropriate author pages here. These are the pages: Stephen King, John Grisham, Charles Dickens. After I put these pictures, the blog had a better look, the look of almost a professional blog itself. After this, I went to bed before long.

In the morning, when I looked at my blog, I was surprised and extremely happy to find that it had risen to PR1. How could this have happened, I had no idea. I checked in some PageRank checking websites as well, and CuteWriting is of course PR1 now. I had expected this to happen. Such careful was the SEO I did for my blog. However, it all happened after I added those pictures! Sounds interesting? In fact, somewhere I read that Google regards pictures and videos as content. So, if you add them to your site, it will be more important to Google.

So, I suggest you all to add some more pictures to your blogs, and maybe you will also be surprised to find your blog rising in rank. But this looks very illogical. How can a picture aid in PageRank at all? Maybe it’s all complete coincidence. There is also something else I did last night that might have had significance.

I went back to my older posts, and from them, linked to relevant newer posts. So, I kept up the link structure of the blog well. It seems as if this had a part to play in PR. Whatever the case, I am on my way to PR2 now. Let’s wait and see when it happens (and what makes it happen)!

    Thanks, check out the pagerank information from pagerank.net, it is shown there. The pagerank is now not well updated in google toolbar.

Another Tiny List of Confusables

Earlier, you may remember we published a list of confusable words . Here we are again, with such a list of words. Abjure/Adjure: Abjure means "to formally renounce (give up) something" such as a position. Adjure on the other hand means 'to appeal to' or 'solemnly order'.
