Smooth Progress of a Blogging Day

Most bloggers have a problem: What will I write today? They are starting their day with an intention to post something into their blogs, not build their knowledge in the niche or read their feed subscriptions. This is really going to affect your blog after some time, because your thirst for post ideas may not always be quenched, and your quick posts may make blog substandard. Here are ways to start a blogging day, which will culminate in one great end-of-the-day post or more.

1. Start Your Day With Your Feeds

Every blogger is expected to have a number of niche and off-niche important blogs subscribed to in his feed reader. There is no alternative to this. Start your day reading these feeds and learning what's new. This will give you an idea of what you can write for the day.

2. Have a Notepad Ready

Always keep a notepad ready to jot down the day's topic ideas. You will automatically generate topic ideas as you continue to read the feeds. You will find different perspectives in different feeds for the same story. This will be beneficial for your research.

3. Jot Down Important Research Points

Make sure you jot down anything you understand from the feeds you read. These points will be useful when you compose your article at the end of the day. It will help you develop your own perspective of the story or a wrap-up of all major factors.

4. Make a List of Links to Check

You should collect a list of links that explain the story further. You can combine this list from the feeds (most of them list links to important resources) or from search engines for search of related keywords.

5. Make a List of Keywords

Since your posts should be well optimized for specific keywords, it pays to have a list of keywords ready. This list will prove to be very useful at the end of the day.

6. Have a List of References to Cite

You may need to cite references. So, you can explain each point well with a link to a related resource as reference. You can make an appropriate list with Wikipedia or any other trusted resource. Once again, remember, links to trusted related resources are good for high search engine ranking.

7. Write That Post

Now that you have a number of topics and resources to learn about them, you can easily create that post of the day. Edit properly and insert your keywords at the optimum level (2–5%). Finally, publish the post.

8. Go to Social Networks and Forums That Deal With This Topic

Now, submit the post to social media like Digg.com, and discuss the various aspects of it at various forums and social network groups, that discuss this topic. The importance of this may not be seen right away. But the archives are there, which will be found by a reader several weeks from now. If he sees that your post explains the story the best, with links to all important related resources, you can imagine the satisfaction you provided.

9. As a Final Step, Build Some Links

I also suggest that you go and look for DoFollow blogs or directories related to the topic in question and build some links for the post. Though low in number, these links can help rank the page high in search results. Also, you can request links from webmasters dealing with the topic.

Conclusion

Basically that's what you do on any blogging day. If you have any suggestions or comments, post them right away.

Expandable Post Summaries on Blogger

One of my readers, Chris contacted me with a question: A few days ago, when I checked your blog, it had this cute feature; there were teasers (previews) for each post, with links to expand to the full post. I have a Blogger blog myself, and I would like to implement this feature. Could you post directions for this? Thanks Chris Well, Chris, the standard term for the post teasers is Expandable Post Summaries . In self-hosted blogs, this feature is prevalent and it is also an indication of professional blog design . Or it has been made so by widespread use of this feature in professional blogs. In Blogger blogs, this feature is not available directly from the dashboard. However, a minor Blogger tweak can give you this effect. Though there is official Blogger help for this tweak, it is not rated understandable by most people. What You Should Know Before You Do This There is a catch to expandable post summaries, however, which made me get rid of this a few days ago. Through this, ...

[Edit: The blog is no longer DoFollow due to loads of spam comments it attracted ] Backlinks are very important for your websites.
